Laundry Room

April 29, 2015

Let the good times begin! Began the laundry room facelift. Was getting tired of stubbing toes against the flooring boxes that have been stored under the bed; washing machine is on its’ last legs and want to get rid of some left over paint to free up space in the garage.

The worst step of the project has been completed. That would be moving the washer and dryer out of the room. Paula and I make a pretty good moving team armed with some cardboard sheets. The challenge is that there is really no room to use a dolly – can’t make the turns in the hall. So, with brute force and raw muscle we get the appliance moved to the hall and set on a piece of cardboard.  It is then slid down the few feet to the turn where we  and we slide it around.

Next up – wash the walls and ceiling, remove the baseboard and then paint.

After photos!  Yee-haw the fun is over.  The floor was kicking my butt.  I showed it though and got it installed.  Just didn’t seem to go as easy as the main bath.  But I did figure out the trick to installing the transition strip.  Place the transition piece where you want it.  Mark the center line on it and the door casing.  Place the center line of the track on those marks and screw down.

This project can be put to bed.  Just have to move the dryer back in.  After that it is wait for the new washer to be delivered.  Several loads of dirty clothes are waiting so it should receive a good test.
